No need to buy imported shop flowers when at this time of the year you can make your own floral arrangements from the spoils of your cut flower garden. Not only saving you a few euros it also saves on the air miles.
This is an arrangement that Sarah made using Dahlia, Lavender, Eucalyptus, Verbena Bonariensis, Buddleja and Cup and Saucer Vine (Cobaea scandens) all from our own garden.
Making a floral arrangement also brings scent and visual pleasure indoors, especially as today has also been torrential Thursday. And even better you can fill your house with vases of cut flowers for most of the year with seeds, such as Moluccella laevis (Bells of Ireland), Cosmos ‘Purity’, Nigella damascena ‘Persian Jewels’and Calendula ‘Citrus Cocktail’.
Sarah has a good eye for colour, lovely combination.
Certainly does and with doing more floral arrangements our cutting garden is being increased.
I keep meaning to increase our own but end up with more veg somehow! #nextyear
