At present this is the only image I have to show for our surprise win of ‘The Greenest Garden Centre’ at the Garden Retail Awards 2012 which took place on Wednesday night at London’s Grosvenor House in Park Lane. We were unable to attend and look what happens when you don’t attend, you go and win!!!!!!
So instead of being in swanky surroundings, there I was watching the results via twitter while ironing and up pops the following

Environmental excellence for The Secret Garden Centre with an Award for the Greenest Garden Centre
Gobsmacked, over the moon, shock and gutted that we were unable to attend would be how I would describe the emotions on seeing the amazing recognition of our strive to be a greener garden centre had really been recognised. Having already been awarded The Green Retailer of the Year Award at The Green Awards earlier this year this really was the icing on the cake for our 10th year.
The comment below was from one of the judges and is a real reflection of the whole teams commitment to sustainable gardening.
“Shows a deeply ingrained attitude to the environment – great work” – Paul Pleydell
We certainly wont be sitting back on our laurels as there is still more to be achieved, with more courses, events, advice and learning to be shared. We hope to bring in new eco products and suppliers and bring new developments to the garden centre. So a huge thank you again for all the support we have received over the last ten years.
Absolutely delighted for you!
Thank you Belle. We all rather delighted here π
I’ve just discovered your website (thanks to Ena Ronayne) and your facebook page. A late congratulations on your The Greenest Garden Centre award. I really like your website and the way you do business- keeping the environment in mind all the time. Good luck in 2013. I hope the weather is a bit drier!!
Hi Aislinn. Hoping for rain at night, warmth during the day. Not that much to ask!!!! Thank you for your lovely comment and for Ena for introducing you.
